The LCR is situated in UEA's Students' Union Building and has been hosting live music for over 30 years. A historic centre for gigs in Norwich the LCR has seen appearances from U2 to Coldplay and more recently witnessed Royal Blood on their meteoric rise. The venue is well established as the key venue in the East Of England earning a fantastic reputation with bands, promoters, agents and customers alike.
After a 5 year venue campaign the Waterfront came to life in 1990, hosting one of the first Sound City events. Designed by Ben Kelly (The Hacienda), the Waterfront is a converted brewery Warehouse situated in the city by the riverside. The Waterfront was taken over by the Students Union at UEA in 1993, working in conjunction with the building's owners Norwich City Council. Over the years The Waterfront has been the cornerstone of live music at this level in Norwich and consistently punches above it’s weight with legends the likes of Radiohead, Pulp, Nirvana, Arctic Monkeys, Foals, Stereophonics, Babyshambes, Plan B, Amy Winehouse and The Prodigy to name but a few gracing it’s stages.
